This is why a conservative world view is so important. You have the G7 being lead by conservatives: Japan, Italy, France, Germany, Canada, Great Britian (come next election) and hopefully the United States under John McCain.

The reason why all of those countries are being lead by conservatives is because they tried leftist governance first and it was a dismal failure in each case before they elected conservatives. The problem here is we have had leftist governance too in the form of a leftist legislature combined with a Republican President weakened by an unpopular war. Polls are closing. There is still time and even a Frenchman understands the stakes are high.
