I was at the Who concert at Nokia Theatre Saturday night. This reminded me of a piece a couple of years ago in National Review called Rockin' the Right listing the best conservative rock songs
http://nrd.nationalreview.com/article/?q=MmYxMjJmNzdkNzBmYWU2OGIyMTZhYWE5ODFlY2RmMmY= and We Won't Get Fooled Again is #1.
On that note I thought of a few Who songs that would apply to the current election and political climate :
Baba O'Reily containing the lyric "teenage wasteland." Enough said.
The Real Me containing the lyric "Can you see the real me? can ya? can ya?." To quote Bob the Builder and Barack the Taxer, "Yes we can."
The Punk Meets the Godfather containing the lyics, "We tried to speak between lines of oration. You could only repeat what we told you." and "We're the slaves of the phony leaders. Breathe the air we have blown you."
Finally, the #1 conservative hit We Won't Get Fooled Again containing numerous lyrics like, "we know that the hypnotized never lie" and "meet the new boss, just the same as the old boss." Let's hope we don't get fooled again in 2012.
