In no particular order:
.) Government will grow at an exponential rate. I heard Jonah Goldberg estimate that based on Obama's proposed spending and the amount of jobs he claims it will create, that translates to $250,000 per job. Since not everyone is going to be making $250K, government waste will make up the difference.
.) Taxes will increase. At the very least the Bush tax cuts will expire in 2010 and not be renewed. Speaker Pelosi reportedly wants them to expire sooner. Regardless taxes are going up especially on the most productive, those small businesses that create the jobs.
.) Iran will get the bomb. The Bush administration seemed to have ruled out any military action to stop Iran and diplomacy has already proven failures with respect to Iran and North Korea. Diplomacy without the threat of force is meaningless and just becomes a magic word that people use that in practice achieves nothing. It wasn't diplomacy that brought down the Soviet Empire. It was Ronald Reagan and a revitalized American military willing and able to use force when necessary.
.) Democrats in the House and the Senate will overreach. There are signs already that they are not content following President Obama's lead. Both chambers are headed by two of the dumbest politicians in history, both in terms of raw intellect and in terms of political skills. Let's all pray for the health of Obama and Biden particularly because Pelosi is next in line.
.) The lives of African Americans will remain largely unchanged. We all heard the sound clips of African Americans thinking tthat the government is going to pay their credit cards and mortgages now that Obama was elected. The positive in this is the possibility that blacks, like everyone else, are responsible for their own lots in life. When people realize that their biggest demons are within, they can have a chance at conquering or at least controlling them.
.) As the Earth continues to cool and we see colder and colder winters, global warming religionists will double down and insist that climate change is the issue more than ever and demand even more government intrusion in people's lives.
.) The press will continue their love affair with Obama and press will more and more resemble Scientologists and become less and less relevant. People will continue to source their own news on the internet.
.) Obama's poll numbers will fall from the mid 70's they are now as he begins his Presidency.
.) The left will be driven insane by Obama adopting much of W's policies in terms of national security and will decide the policies are now O.K. because their guy is doing them. If the left was honest in their beliefs they would abandon Obama but they aren't, they just want power.
.) Not only will Governor Blago not go to jail, he will remain in power until the end of his term. This is the only bold prediction. It is based on my belief that while the Governor is corrupt and a little dim, he is still smarter and more ethical than nearly every other Democrat from Illinois, our President Elect exempted of course.
.) Cubs will continue their drought in the World Series. This hurts as a Cub fan but a win would surely mean a sign of Jesus' return. If the Mayan's were right and the world does end in early 2012, we will be spared another Presidential election and Summer Olympics which isn't so bad. Cubs would have to win by 2011 and I just don't see it.
