As I reflect on the Obama Inaugural I cannot decide if it is hysterically historical or historically hysterical. Laura Ingraham referring to the hysteria called it "hystoria." I am already sick of it all. The comparisons to Lincoln are so contrived. Ideologically is the Lincoln's polar opposite. Lincoln believed in the Constitution and believed that you are not allowed to do anything that the Constitution does not allow. Clearly Obama believes in a "living Constitution" which means the Constitution means whatever you want it to mean which means it means nothing. They have done the same thing with Scripture. Anyway Barack is taking a train to DC just like Lincoln did. But of course in Lincoln's day, the train was the modern form of transport, like airplanes are today. No doubt Lincoln would have taken a plane had he been elected President in the modern era. Further, Lincoln had to take a train because HE WASN'T IN DC AT THE TIME. President Elect Obama has been living in DC since the beginning of the year and had to leave to take the train back. This is the ultimate in staging and creating a larger than necessary carbon footprint. It is going to be a LONG four years. Since Obama is devoid of humor, I thought it was going to be a humorless four years. I didn't realize his supporters would be providing the comic relief.
