Full disclosure. I love Canada and more specifically I love Canadians and even more specifically, I love a Canadian, namely my wife. Canadians, except my wife and the great Mark Steyn, love Barack Obama, worship may be more accurate. My wife had to buy for her mom Obama t shirts for her 75th birthday this month. It was painful for my wife to hit click and place that order. No it wasn't any of these :

This brings me to my point. I propose a two part trade. First, we swap Vermont for Alberta straight up. Vermonters would feel more at home in the more liberal north and Albertans are basically Texans with snow and hockey. We can sell it by getting them to corner the maple syrup market completely. Second, since PM Harper is against stimulus spending and keeping his budget in balance, and Obama is........sorry I was laughing......not, we could swap Obama for Harper. It is better for America, Canadians would love it. It is a win win.
